About Garry Worete Deverell Garry is a trawloolway man from northern trouwerner/lutruwita/Tasmania who has extensive experience as a priest, academic and author. He is especially well known for reflecting upon the experience of Aboriginal people with spirituality and religion. His priestly work includes parish and chaplaincy roles within Baptist, Anglican and Uniting Church communities. He is currently licensed as a priest with the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. His academic work includes teaching theology, ritual studies and Indigenous studies within a variety of theological colleges and universities. These include Monash University, the University of Melbourne, Charles Sturt University and the University of Divinity. Garry has written three books, and many more articles. These include The Bonds of Freedom (Wipf & Stock, 2008), Gondwana Theology (ATF Press, 2024) and Contemplating Country (Wipf & Stock, 2023). He has twice been interviewed about this work for ABC Radio National's 'Soul Search' program. Garry blogs here. Consultancy Rates Garry's consultancy rate is $300 per hour of delivered services, including GST, or $1500 per day. Travel is charged at 88 cents per km within lutruwita/Tasmania. For interstate or overseas work, it is expected that the cost of flights, train/bus tickets or Uber fares will be reimbursed.
